Professional Xcode 3 (Wrox Programmer to Programmer) ReviewI hesitated a bit before buying this because a later version of XCode is out and because I wasn't sure how much I would need the material in this book. Thankfully, I went ahead and purchased the book despite these concerns. I'm just a bit past page 100 and I can see that the book will more than pay for itself just in increased productivity. Much of the info/shortcuts/tips weren't covered in other materials I've used, yet they will be quite helpful. Although there will be differences between the older and newer XCode, I don't really think it will affect a significant amount of this material (at least so far). Even if it did, I wouldn't regret getting this book because I'm sure I will be able to figure out the (probably slight) changes between the different versions. Really, just knowing some of the features/shortcuts are there is worth the price of the book. If you have months to explore XCode on a full time basis, you might pick up various parts of this material (no where near all of it, I'm sure) on your own, but this book is like your own (efficient!) guided tour which provides clear explanations, a lasting reference, and even some ideas for how to use features you may not have known existed. Like I said, I'm barely past page 100, yet I can already say this book is well worth the money I paid & the time I have/will invest reading it. I highly recommend this book.Professional Xcode 3 (Wrox Programmer to Programmer) OverviewA solid guide that responds to the active interest in Apple's Xcode tools
Apple's Xcode tools are a collection of applications and frameworks that are used to develop, test, and optimize applications primarily written for Mac OS X or the iPhone. This book provides you with an inside look at the array of Xcode tools from top to bottom.
You'll go beyond the basics and dive into such in-depth topics as installing the latest version of Xcode tools, customizing the look and behavior of Xcode, creating and managing projects, using the built-in class browser to model complex applications and structures, and more.

Xcode 4 (Developer Reference) ReviewOk, I have finished almost 75% of the book. I find it amazing, full of useful information and well-organized.
Good things:
1. Many parts are detailed. This is good when writing a book on IDE.
2. You will use as a reference. Yes, you'll read certain parts again and again from time to time. It Is a Developer Reference.
3. Almost every aspect of Xcode 4 is illustrated with figures and detailed steps. However, advanced features are not explained.
Bad things:
1. I think the first edition is considering Xcode 4. That Xcode "4.0" not 4.0.1 or 4.0.2 or 4.1". There are differences and they are not minors.
2. that's it.
I'd recommend this book for beginners and intermediate developer (like me). For advanced developers, it may not offer so much.
