Organization Theory and Design ReviewI would like to say that the content of this book is good. It contains updated information that is applicable to today's economy and world. I have very much been enjoying reading this textbook on my Kindle device, but...
The remainder of this review will not be on the content of the book, but the ordeal I had when I bought the e-book edition. You'll notice that this book is no longer offered for the Kindle device. When I bought this text a couple of weeks ago, it was offered as a Kindle edition for about $30 cheaper. I figured it was worth it because I often like to refer back to my textbooks for new classes. I got through 2 Chapters of this book on my Kindle when I realized that one of the Workbook assignments I had to do was not on the device at all. So I thought, "Maybe it will show up on Kindle for PC." Nope, not there, but a note about information missing due to copyright issues was in its place. Seriously? Probably nobody is reading this book just for the heck of it, most people are reading it for serious schoolwork and all of the information-especially cases for analysis and workbook activities need to be available. Chapter 2 wasn't the only chapter with information missing. I found about 4 other chapters with missing activities and cases, and these were just the chapters that I needed info from, there could have been more with missing info.
Anyway, Amazon was fantastic when I contacted them. And they gave me my money back after I purchased the hardcopy of the book. They said it was something to do with the publisher. And of course, I contacted the publisher just to make sure they knew of the issue. The publishing company was rude and said they had absolutely nothing to do with the problem.
I would very much like to read textbooks for classes on my Kindle and I was hoping this one would be the beginning of not having to lug heavy hardcopies to work, the coffee shop, on airplanes, etc., but I guess not.
