Joomla Bible ReviewThis is far and away the best overview on Joomla, how to deploy a website in Joomla. This is not a book on how to develop in Joomla. The intended audience is someone who will be building Joomla websites, administrating them and doing mild customization in the HTML/CSS arena. Not a book about PHP programming or Joomla's MVC architecture (shame to even use that term, as Joomla MVC is horrific!).
Joomla is a great product for the right audience and this book is perfect for them!Joomla Bible Overview
Comprehensive guide to creating Web sites with the open-source Joomla!1.5

Joomla! is an open-source content management system (CMS) for Web sites. While it is free and relatively easy to use, there are lots of tricks and functionality that may not be intuitive to new users or those switching from other systems. And the previous version is quite different from the new Joomla 1.5, for which documentation is sparse.Joomla! Bible is the complete, step-by-step guide you need to build and manage Web sites using the very newest version of this powerful and popular CMS.
Walks you through obtaining the Joomla! 1.5 code and how to deploy it to a server, configure the site, create content, and manage content and user hierarchies
Helps you get the most out of core modules that provide advanced functionality, including the Polls Module, the Banner Manager, the Media Manager, Galleries, Weblinks, Content Syndication, and Newsfeed Aggregation
Vaults you into the world of Web 2.0 with extensive coverage of JomSocial, and shows you how to set up for e-commmerce with VirtueMart

Get the most out of Joomla! 1.5 with this complete guide guide.

The Web Content Strategist's Bible: The Complete Guide To A New And Lucrative Career For Writers Of All Kinds ReviewI am a seasoned copywriter and burgeoning content strategist. My current project is a large scale financial Website. To prepare, I joined some content forums on the Web and sought out the best books available. Three made the cut and The Web Content Strategist's Bible is already a treasured reference. Richard Sheffield gave me absolutely essential ideas for improving my matrices which I can implement immediately. The book also introduces aspects of our discipline that I plan on applying to future projects.
The Web Content Strategist's Bible is well organized and easily digestible - just like good Web content. It is a breezy, but never superficial read. TWCSB gives a complete picture of the expected duties and deliverables for a strategist, so the book is excellent for those just entering the field. However I wouldn't say the book is only for newbies. TWCSB is suitable for anyone who deals with content and has the sense that things are being overlooked or that workflow could be improved. Sheffield clearly outlines the different project phases and associated challenges. Small organizations could use it to help create their content process and make the business case for having a strategist.
Make this part of your required reading and you will automatically be several steps ahead of your competition. The Web Content Strategist's Bible: The Complete Guide To A New And Lucrative Career For Writers Of All Kinds OverviewManaging the creation and maintenance of the huge volume of Web content requires an understanding of not just Web writing, but of detailed, well-planned, realistic content development processes. Those practicing the new discipline of Web Content Strategy are being called upon to help Web development teams navigate this new editorial ecosystem where content not only has to be written, but also broken up into thousands of pieces that have to be reviewed, approved, re-purposed, edited for search engines, translated, localized, and generated using a new and complex set of tools and techniques. The Web Content Strategist's Bible explains how the practice of Web content strategy can be used to effectively manage the size, scope, and cost of content-heavy Web development projects.Presented in an easy, readable style, the book focuses on asking the right questions and gathering relevant information needed for efficient project planning and development.

Documentum 6.5 Content Management Foundations ReviewThe Documentum 6.5 Content Management Foundations is foundational book, it covers a wide variety of well covered high level topics at a precursory level. It is a good read for Managers or some one just being introduced to Documentum. The book does give references to Documentum manuals for in depth information which I have not been able to find them on-line as of yet.Documentum 6.5 Content Management Foundations OverviewThis book relies on simple language and makes extensive use of examples, illustrations, screenshots, and practice questions. Examples throughout the book are based on a real-life business scenario, which strings different concepts together and takes the reader a step closer to real-life implementations. Simplify, illustrate with examples, and test the reader's understanding - with this approach the book attempts to cater to different learning styles. If you are a beginner or intermediate-level Documentum developer or professional interested in preparing for the E20-120 exam and seeking EMC Proven Professional certifications in content management, then this book is for you. Professional SharePoint 2007 Development (Programmer to Programmer) ReviewMost of the SharePoint books out there focus on the basic features of WSS, including lists, document libraries, views, blogs, wikis, etc. Although these are integral parts of SharePoint, they don't begin to scratch the surface of what it has to offer.
This book begins to cover these details. Topics such as building a true development/production environment, designing an enterprise portal application, creating custom field types (not just creating custom columns), creating web parts, building custom features and solutions, and programming through the object model are important to SharePoint developers creating SharePoint content in Visual Studio.
This book also takes great aim as documenting that which hasn't been documented yet, especially the XML schemas of features, elements, and solutions.
Finally, the book focuses on the enterprise portal features of MOSS, including Excel services, the Business Data Catalog, Enterprise Search, and Document Management.
Because this book focuses heavily on development, Content Managers will be better off choosing another book from the many out there for creating lists, customizing master pages, creating style sheets, and other content topics.
But for SharePoint portal architects and development programmers, this is your book. There's a wealth of information in this book and deserves to be in your library.Professional SharePoint 2007 Development (Programmer to Programmer) OverviewIf you're a .NET or Microsoft Office developer, this book will give you the tools and the techniques you need to build great solutions for the SharePoint platform. It offers practical insights that will help you take advantage of this powerful new integrated suite of server-based collaboration software tools along with specific examples that show you how to implement your own custom solutions. You'll then be able to apply this information to create collaborative web-based applications that enhance user productivity and deliver rich user experiences.
You'll start by building a strong foundation based on a thorough understanding of the technologies that come with the SharePoint platform, while also drilling into specific implementation areas. Next, you'll dive into seven key SharePoint development areas: the base collaboration platform, portal and composite application frameworks, enterprise search, ECM, business process automation and workflow, electronic forms, and business intelligence.
This book is for ASP.NET developers who want to add collaboration support to their existing applications, Windows/Office client developers who want to move their solutions from the desktop to the web, and experienced SharePoint version 2.0 developers who want to take advantage of the new capabilities available in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.
You will learn all about Windows SharePoint Services and MOSS 2007, including the following:

Ways to enhance collaboration using calendars, tasks, issues, and email alerts

Techniques for developing applications with integrated RSS, blogs and Wikis

How to build, configure, and manage portal solutions

Strategies for using enterprise search, XML, and XSLT

Methods for improving enterprise content management and business intelligence

Ways to take advantage of built-in support for regulatory compliance and web publishing

How to create custom workflows and integrate them into your solutions

This book is also available as part of the 4-book SharePoint 2007 Wrox Box (ISBN: 0470431946) with these 4 books:
